2 Days in Mykonos Greece

You may think Mykonos is for the young and the rich, but my hubby and I had an absolute blast! We're not young or rich, LOL but we had such an amazing time just exploring the cobble stoned narrow alleys, the tons of little restaurants and cafes and of course, the windmills!

We rented a car in Mykonos as well since we stayed in the grogeous 5-star luxury hotel Kivotos and drove down to town everyday - and it was a short 10 min driving distance!

Quoting Lonely Planet, "The high-season mix of hedonistic holiday makers, cruise-ship crowds and posturing fashionistas throngs Mykonos Town (aka Hora), a traditional whitewashed Cycladic maze, delighting in its authentic cubist charms and its chichi cafe-bar-boutique scene. The number of tourists (and cashed-up A-listers) visiting Mykonos is booming, and hip new hotels, beach bars and restaurants are mushrooming. In July and August, come only if you are prepared to pay and are intent on joining the jostling street crowds, the oiled-up lounger lifestyle at the packed main beaches and the relentless party. Out of season, devoid of gloss and preening celebrities, find more subdued local life, the with occasional pelican wandering the empty streets and beaches that you will have largely to yourself.Mykonos is also the jumping-off point for the archaeological site of the nearby island of Delos."

Exploring Little Venice:Cafes & SunsetPrime spots for watching the greatest free show on earth include the bars of Little Venice in Hora, Kato Mili (a classic quartet of windmills on a hillock overlooking Little Venice) and Agios Ioannis beach.

Kato WindmillsThese iconic windmills overlooking Little Venice date back to the 16th century when islanders used wind power to grind grain. There are 16 windmills in total, and while they are no longer operational, they stand as a monument to early innovation. The views here are spectacular: From this hilltop perch, you can see Chora and the harbor in the distance!

Instagram & Pinterest famous Alley

THAT ALLEY cafe that Instagram & Pinterest made so popular ♥️ Shame on all the hundreds of bloggers that have posted pictures of this adorable (pretty hard to find) cafe and not disclosed how to find it! The whole point of blogging is to discover and SHARE!

Anyhoo let’s give credit to the lovely cafe @kastros_mykonos that created this adorable space and has become instafamos ! We managed to find it just minutes before we were leaving Mykonos and am SO SO glad we managed to steal a few good moments soaking the cuteness of this cafe!

Please do visit and share a couple drinks here at @kastros_mykonos coz it’s so adorable!

Pasta Fresca

Fresh handmade pasta and the most fresh ingredients filled our tummies everyday! Pasta Fresca Barkia has my heart!

Bougainvillea Heaven We dined at Katrin's because it was just so darn gorgeous!

Nikos TavernaIf you're seeking traditional Greek tavernas check out Nikos Taverna with its beautiful red domes!

Panagia ParaportianiMykonos’ most famous church, the whitewashed, rock-like Panagia Paraportiani, comprises four small chapels – plus another on an upper storey reached by an exterior staircase. It’s usually locked but the fabulously photogenic whitewashed exterior is the drawcard.
