DIY Boho Backyard

Your vibe defines your tribe!

Every home has its "vibe" - I love that word because its defined by the way you "feel" about something or some place.

My whole attitude toward home decor is all about the way I want someone to feel when they walk in - whether that's me, my hubby, my pups or our guests!

I've always wanted my home to be filled with love. I want people walking in to my house to know there is love in this home - love for humans, animals and all other living beings. That's my vibe.

Something warm, something bright, vibrant and positive - that's what I started with. As I started to look around for inspiration, I thought about what's important to me when I spend time in my backyard - I want to spend all my summers there, making fruity drinks, playing music, snuggling with my pups and lots and lots of laughter with my dear ones.

Boho Chic is my style of fashion - why not in my backyard?! So I decided to channel my inner hippie into my backyard decor! There's no definition of "boho" - its totally a "vibe". I decided to follow my heart and picked up things from my fav stores - Home Goods, Target, Pier1 and Home Depot!

Getting Started guide:

I don't believe in buying $1000 patio furniture and calling it done; for me the fun is in picking out cute accent pieces and "putting it together" - on a budget!

Here's a quick list of things I started with:

1. String lights - from Home Depot ($25 - $50)

2. Cactus & Succulents Garden - Home Depot ($5 - $25 )

3. Lots of colorful pots - Target & Home Goods ($15 - $30)

4. Moroccan Lanterns - Pier 1 ($20 - 40)

5. Printed pillows - Target ($9 - 19)

6. LOTS of throws (with tassels and pom poms) - Target & Home Goods ($20 - $40)

7. Outdoor Area Rug - Home Goods ($39)

8. Huge 3-wick Candles - Pier1 & Home Goods ($30)

9. Buddha - Home Goods ($35)

10. Papasan Chairs & Poufs - Pier1 & Ross ($35 each) I set out with a budget of $500 and was all done well within that amount! :)

I'm so glad I got to realize my dream backyard!Best part of it all - the pups LOVE it! That means, I get to spend all afternoon reading a book under the shade while the pups lay at my feet soaking up the sun!
