Hotel Review: Barcelo Bavaro Palace in Dominican Republic
I was invited to stay at Barcelo Bavaro Grand Resort, however all opinions are my own.
You know that feeling: you’re sitting at work in back to back meetings from 8am... and you haven’t even looked outside to see how beautiful the day is! Combine that with memories of being 3 steps from the world's most fabulous Bavaro Beach just last week... well we are so happy to have selected Barcelo Bavaro Palace for our 4th anniversary!
The Barceló Bávaro Palace hotel is one of the top luxury hotels in Punta Cana, designed specifically for people who love constant sunshine, the gentle sound of the Caribbean breeze whispering in the palm trees, and beautiful crystal-clear waters with a coral reef. The hotel is beside one of the 10 most stunning beaches in the world. We started our anniversary with catching the sunset by the beach, twirling under the wafting Caribbean breeze against the rows of Palm Trees, my hubby and I spent all evening in each others arms!
One of my favorite parts about our Junior Suite at the Premium Level was the outdoor Hot Tub that opens right up to the beach! If I could go back to that image - relaxing in a Rose bath 🛀 by the ocean in our Beach front suite with rose petals sprinkled all over our room .. sigh! If only everyday was this perfect ! Well it’s certainly a strong reminder to me and my hubby about how important it is to take a break, to relax, to indulge and just let go!

When we were not out exploring the glorious beaches in and around Punta Cana, we were submerged in one of the 4 world class swimming pools! The swimming pool area has all types of entertainment and possibilities for relaxation such as hammocks, waterfalls, and much more. Additionally, there's a Water Park right in the heart of the property for children to enjoy castles, water slides, and waterfalls in the swimming pool!
The Hubby and I love having entertainment options when on vacation! We go from frequent dips in the pool to food & drinks to anything from Bowling to Casinos! And what can you say - Barcelo Bavaro covered the spectrum! The first night we hit the Arcade room, played Air Hockey, Hoops and then a solid couple rounds of Bowling!
Additionally there are many facilities such as an exclusive spa for guests looking to unwind, clubs, and evening shows for those who enjoy nightlife.
Another amazing attraction right on property in the most spectacular theater in the whole Caribbean, with capacity for up to 1,400 guests and incredible Las Vegas-inspired décor. It features 2 entertainment levels for your enjoyment, a bar on both levels and waiter service to ensure you don’t miss any part of the fabulous show.
The Barceló Bávaro Palace hotel also offers 11 specialty restaurants to choose from, 7 of which require reservations and formal attire. Each one of the Barceló restaurants is an unmistakable gourmet experience. Our favorite was of course the Coral Seafood restaurant where we had breakfast every morning with sweeping seaside views ! But that aside, every evening we picked one of their unique cuisines - Italian, Spanish, Japanese, Mexican to experience and we were blown away!
Lastly, one of the best things that worked out for us was the ease of access to tour operators for us to book our day trips! We worked with Vacaciones Barcelo that has a desk right on the Premium Level and were fantastic to work with! Right from Airport pick up & drop off, to taking us to Scape Park and Saona Island over the next couple days, we found it incredibly convenient! You can read more about our visits on my blog!
I could go on about the fabulous facilities and the staff that made sure we have the time of our lives, but the only good way to really experience it, is to really experience it! I'll leave you with a few more of my favorite moments at the property!
