Scape Park in Dominican Republic
I was invited to visit Scape Park in Dominican Republic by Vacaciones Barcelo, but all opinions are my own.
"SCAPE PARK - A place where nature embraces your senses, takes you back through time and fills you with emotion"

On our second day in Punta Cana, we decided to spend the day at the incredibly popular Scape Park - a natural theme park with numerous attractions ranging from adventurous and adrenaline-pumping activities to cultural and highly entertaining experiences!

All we had to do was contact Vacaciones Barcelo and they set us up! Starting from the 8am Hotel pickup, bathing suit & sunglasses on - we were guaranteed an unforgettable visit. FYI, I'm wearing this adorable Stripe Swim Suit from SHOPREDDRESS.COM - click on the link !
Scape Park is located in the heart of the Cap Cana Resort, encompassing a surface of more than 1 million square meters. Its limestone topography presents many interesting landforms, providing for spectacular views in various of the park’s activities including jumping into cold turquoise Cenotes, Zip lining, cave swims etc

There are multiple options for you to explore Scape Park. We were limited on time so we handpicked the experiences we wanted to try. But I highly recommend staying the full day (which includes a Sunshine Cruise and a drop off to the hotel at 6pm) or additionally the VIP Juanillo option- named as one of the top 10 beaches in the world!!
Once the bus dropped us off at Scape Park, the manager came out to escort us and show us around the place! He was one of the most genuinely kind and helpful people we met, stayed with the the entire time and shared so many details about the beginnings of Dominican Republic!
HOYO AZUL:
We started our journey through Scape Park at the iconic Hoyo Azul! Floating flat in Hoyo Azul was on my bucket list for so long, I was NOT going to leave DR without getting my fill! I'm not a strong swimmer, so luckily they had life vests for scardey cats like me to experience the magic of Hoyo Azul :)

Hoyo Azul is a hidden cenote with the most impressive turquoise waters nature can offer! Walking your way through the natural park is an exotic journey will bring you face to face with the Caribbean’s amazing eco system.

The hubby got addicted to the "cliff jump" into the 40ft sink hole and I couldn't imagine getting out of the ice cool waters! Luckily we'd gotten there by 9:30am and it barely had a handful of people. By 10:30 it started to get a little crowded, so we decided to make our way to the next spot.
CULTURAL ROUTE:
After an hour of Hoy-Azul therapy, we were ready for some History lessons! The Manager who walked us from Hoyo Azul decided to take us on the Cultural Route sharing with us the generations of migration that resulted in what Dominican Republic is today.

The route itself is an incarnation of combining the ordinary lifestyle described with the living conditions, entertainment, nature and evolution of culture! In the nature walk you were able to see real life replicas of the homes of the ancient Taino Indians, the Spanish conquistadors, the African slaves and the Dominican peasants.

CAVE SWIM
Taking a mini detour from the Cultural Route we embarked upon this surreal secret Cenote - a complete underwater cave with literally no body inside!

We dove into this mystical underground spring and felt a genuine sensation of swimming in the invigorating waters, previously used by the ancient natives for sacred rituals. The water is crystal clear and the blue was unreal! Take a dip here ... it is believed that the Cenotes have Healing Powers!

WATERFALL EXPEDITION
The best way to conclude our trip was to immerse ourselves in the magnificence of the Waterfalls! There's little to say and a lot more to see here! I stayed glueded to the green blue waters floating in and out of the falls while the hubby hopped on the Zipline wanting to experience jumping into the deep end over and over again :)

Being we decided to visit DR for our anniversary, and finding the entire waterfalls entirely to our selves, we kissed for an hour straight under the waterfalls haha! Not that we need it to be our anniversary, but just being there alone, not a soul to bother us, the water cool and pristine, we had a total blast!

Over all, I do wish we had more time to explore more of the park and of course do the Sunshine Cruise that I've heard amazing things about! Keep in mind its only 30 mins from the Barcelo Bavaro Palace hotel (you can read about our stay here). Make sure to plan your visit to Scape Park, even if only for half a day - its absolutely the most memorable of experiences we've had!
