DIY Gallery Wall

You've seen our living room in almost every story I shoot on instagram and any of our interior posts. We have a wide wall that I've tried to cover in so many different ways! When we got married and moved in, my hubby and I had hand-made 2 wooden signs which we hung on the wall. They're super cute and we still love them. But I've been eager to change up the look and the idea of a gallery wall came to my head more recently.

BEFORE - Fall 2018

Our wall paint is not grey or a typical neutral shade, its Sage Green. So its not the easiest to match furniture and accent decor with this wall color. I knew I needed something that is monochromatic and adds contrast and pattern to my wall. So my gallery wall needed to bring symmetry and bright contrast.

So we took down the signs and got six 11x18 matte finish frames from Target. I wanted the resin to be wide so my picture is centered in the frame without drawing too much attention to them. Once I ordered the frames I went off and ordered prints of our favorite travel pictures.

AFTER - Spring 2019

I wanted the prints to be in monochrome and decided to go with a bold contrast B/W print. They looked a little too bright when I first got them, but once they went up in the frames, I can't stop looking at them! It completely ties my living room together and I just love love how gorgeous they look.

FYI, my hubby signed up to put the frames up and it was NOT FUN for him! You have to measure closely to keep even gaps between the frames so unless you are a very very patient person, this can be a tedious process.

But after the stressful 30 mins, I'm insanely happy with the results!
