[Day 25/30: Product Manager to CEO 30 Day Challenge] When you're planning to launch a new product, there are several legal considerations you should make before doing so. These are just some of the topics you should consider:
Copyright—Do not use someone else's copyrighted material without their permission. This includes photographs, videos, music, and text. If you do use someone else's copyrighted material, make sure you cite where it came from and that it is under fair use.
Trademarks—You don't want to end up in court over a trademark dispute! Make sure you do your research and don't infringe on any trademarks when naming or branding your product.
Patents—If your product is unique and has never been seen before, then you might want to consider patenting it so that no one can copy it without facing serious legal consequences.
Set up an LLC or corporation, if applicable, and registered it with the state where you'll be doing business.
Set up a bank account in the name of your LLC or corporation and linked it to your new product's PayPal account so you can accept payments through PayPal when people buy your product online!
